nollab
We co-create interactive games, participatory art and other tools and learning experiences that blend technical expertise with design and storytelling. Our projects give people concrete ways to practise more caring and just ways of being together.
nol•lab combines nol (놀), the Korean root word for play, with lab, a place where prototyping, testing, and learning take place. The name is also a visual nod to collab, which we see as key for ethical and sustainable social action.
Projects under development include:
Folded
A participatory art project that brings the Convention on the Rights of Child into dialogue with paper folding. Participants fold and unfold together, while questioning how children’s rights are handled today. The Infinite Game
An intergenerational card game where power, obedience, and dissent become playable choices. Children and their caregivers practice micro-acts of courage, care and refusal in response to harmful forms of control. On the Move
A narrative-based game for children on the move. Players step into the personas of their heroes, co-create stories, and rehearse safety, belonging, and co-regulation in a playful, protective space.
Our previous projects have supported innovation and learning in child protection, education in emergencies, safeguarding, gender-based violence, and mental health and psychosocial support.
